Rocky Point Amusement Park
Warwick, Rhode Island

The "House of Horrors" and all the buildings are still standing.  Although someone "bought" the House at auction, it was the local guy (Emery Picotte ?) who planned the Haunted Halloween fests at the park.  These events were fiascoes, unfortunately.  For instance, the Warwick Fire Dept. showed up the day before opening a few Octobers ago and closed them all down - said the buildings did not have sprinklers and weren't up to code.  So, they hurriedly tried to set the stuff up in the Palladium, but the bad news was on the street and it was poorly attended.  Nothing has been held on the site since...

World's Largest Shore Dinner Hall - the paint is peeling, and the letters that spelled out the name across the roof are starting to disappear one-by-one.

So, as you can see, the empty buildings form an eerie ghost town.  Gaudy, bright carnival paint jobs scream out at you as you stroll past the empty counters and games, in stark contrast to the empty sites where the rides once resided.  Chopped off power cables and steel strapping poke up out of the weeds here and there - lonely reminders to us that the show has pulled up and left town.
